Nicolas Jackson’s goals have been crucial for Aston Villa in recent weeks, and the striker is determined to keep his fine form going when Fulham come to town.

The Senegalese bagged a brace via some clinical finishing against Manchester City last weekend, firing his side to a 2-1 victory in the Premier League.

Jackson has scored seven times in 11 games since his summer move from Chelsea, and he wants more for himself and the team going forward.

“Hopefully, there’s more to come and I’ll score more goals,” he said.

“I’m just trying to play in my best level, helping the team defend and to score as well.

“The most important thing is that the team win – that’s the biggest thing for me.”

Jackson added: “It was a difficult start to the season.

“We had a lot of new players and everything else. We’re just trying to build and to work together, keeping focused game-by-game.

“That’s what we’re doing, so that’s the most important thing for us. Hopefully we can win more games.”

The 25-year-old has been a great fit for Unai Emery’s team, leading the line with pace and skill, while also displaying a ruthless streak in front of goal.

Jackson has settled quickly at Bodymoor Heath and is enjoying every aspect of life as a Villan.

“It’s been amazing,” he reflected.

“Amazing coach, the place, the players, the dressing room, the team – everything has been fantastic for me.

“I’m very happy, and hopefully we can do amazing things together and win a lot of games and trophies.”

Fulham are the visitors on Saturday as Villa aim to enjoy another fruitful day on home turf.

It’s an opportunity for Jackson and co to continue their climb up the Premier League table, but he knows three points will not come easily against an improving opponent.

“It’s a very important game,” he said.

“They’re good opponents, a good team. Every game is important to us, so we’ll see how it goes against Fulham.

“We’re trying to win every game, respecting the opponent and working hard to win as many games as we are doing.”
