Villa bow out of Carabao Cup

Aston Villa’s campaign in the Carabao Cup came to a close on Wednesday evening, as they fell to a 3-0 defeat away at Bournemouth.

Unai Emery made nine changes to a starting XI which went down thanks to goals from Amine Adli, Lewis Cook and Álvaro Rodríguez at the Vitality Stadium, as the Cherries advanced to the Quarter-Finals.

The game saw Leon Goretzka make his full debut in claret and blue, with Brian Madjo also leading the line, making his first start since the UEFA Super Cup.
