Nicolas Jackson was delighted to pick up three points at home as Aston Villa beat Manchester City on Saturday.
It took just six minutes for the striker to open the scoring at Villa Park, rocketing the ball past Gianluigi Donnarumma.
He doubled up in the second half after City had equalised to ensure his side took the spoils.
“Very delighted,” he told VillaTV.
“It was a very difficult game. Everyone knows they’re one of the best teams in the world.
“We’re very happy to get the win, especially at home because we’ve struggled a little bit in the Premier League to win [here].
“I’m very happy to win here at home, and hopefully there are many more to come.”
Jackson is in a rich vein of form, having scored seven goals in his 11 matches as a Villan.
His performance was part of a strong team display that delivered a first home win in the top flight this term.
Jackson said: “We always start aggressively and continue that in the game because we want to be aggressive, keep the ball and press them.
“That’s exactly what we did to win the game.”
On the second goal, he said: “I think they changed when Guehi went off, so we switched positions.
“When Mbaye came on, I know he’s very quick so I turned and passed it to him. He gave it me back and I managed to score.”
