Aston Villa was well represented at the 2026 Ballon d’Or Ceremony on Monday evening.
Taking place at the London Palladium for the 70th anniversary, the event saw both Unai Emery and Johan Manzambi in attendance.
The Villa boss was nominated for the Men’s Coach of the Year prize after leading the Villans to a first major trophy in 30 years last season, also securing UEFA Champions League football for the second time in three years through a fourth-place Premier League finish.
Manzambi, meanwhile, was up for the Kopa Trophy crowning the Men’s Young Talent of the Year, after an impressive breakout campaign which saw him reach the Europa League final with Freiburg, before starring for Switzerland at the FIFA World Cup.
Emery was pipped to the Men’s Coach of the Year by Spanish national team boss Luis de la Fuente, while Barcelona and Spain forward Lamine Yamal won the Kopa Trophy.
Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane and London City Lionesses’ Alexia Putellas won the respective Men’s and Women’s Ballon d’Or prizes.
