FPL 2026/27 season preview

Aston Villa have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide advice and gameweek tips which should prove useful in ensuring you win your mini-leagues.

Last month saw the launch of FPL ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season, with Aston Villa supporters able to login to the game on the Premier League App and Website to select and register their 15-man squad.

Ahead of the Gameweek 1 deadline - at 6.30pm this Friday (August 21) - FPL managers are able to make unlimited changes to their teams.

Here are three Villa players to keep an eye on ahead of the start of the season...

Ezri Konsa (£4.5m) started 34 games last season, registering nine clean sheets, an assist, six defensive contribution points and three bonus points. Konsa was the best Villa defender for defensive contributions last season, making 197 across the campaign.

Forward Ollie Watkins (£8.0m) was Villa’s top goalscorer in 2025/26. His 16 goals, four assists and 26 bonus points saw him register 167 points for the season. Only four forwards could better that tally across the game.

Matty Cash (£4.5m) registered six attacking returns last season, which has made him very popular with FPL managers ahead of the new campaign. Of the current Villa squad last season, Cash supplied the most successful passes into the final third, and only captain John McGinn (£5.5m) created more chances than the defender.
