Aston Villa have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League season.
Scout will be using their expertise to provide advice and gameweek tips which should prove useful in ensuring you win your mini-leagues.
John McGinn (£5.4m) provided the assist for Alysson’s (£5.0m) goal in Aston Villa's meeting with Nottingham Forest last weekend.
The Scottish international has now supplied seven attacking returns (four goals, three assists) in 14 Premier League matches since the turn of the year, amassing 62 points.
Despite a challenging start to the 2026/27 season, the underlying data shows McGinn’s influence on Villa’s attack. Helped by a role on set plays, no teammate can better his 17 attempted crosses.
He is also the Villans’ leading man for expected goal involvement (xGI), with 0.96. On top of that, McGinn provides a guarantee of minutes, having started every Premier League game this season.
Villa visit Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday (ko 12.30pm), followed by games against Brentford (h), Newcastle United (a), Manchester City (h) and Fulham (h) after the international break. There could be opportunities for McGinn to add to his recent assist, then.
Multiple routes to points certainly bode well for McGinn’s prospects, with his budget price tag allowing Fantasy managers to push funds into other areas of their squads.
After four league matches, Tottenham are still awaiting their first goal of the campaign, having picked up a point in last weekend’s goalless draw with Everton.
