Aston Villa have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League season.
Scout will be using their expertise to provide advice and gameweek tips which should prove useful in ensuring you win your mini-leagues.
Following the completion of Gameweek 5, Fantasy Premier League managers can now start to identify trends in the data and develop a better understanding of the best players to own.
With that in mind, here are Aston Villa’s three highest-scoring players in FPL so far…
Buendía scored a stunner in last Saturday's win at Tottenham Hotspur, capping off a fine individual display from the £5.9m midfielder.
In addition to his goal, the playmaker hit the defensive contribution (DefCon) threshold for the first time this season, thanks to two interceptions, six recoveries and seven tackles, and claimed the maximum bonus for a 12-point haul.
Having also netted in Europe against Club Brugge, it’s no surprise that Buendía has started to show his true potential in FPL. In terms of the underlying numbers, Buendía ranks first among teammates for shots (nine), final-third touches (95) and passes received in the penalty area (seven).
Capable of contributing both goals and assists, he’s third for chances created (five), too.
McGinn (£5.4m), of course, provided the assist for that Buendía strike in North London. The Villa captain has now supplied assists in successive matches against Nottingham Forest and Spurs, a run which has seen him deliver 12 FPL points.
The underlying data further highlights McGinn’s influence on Villa’s attack. Helped by a role on set plays, no teammate can better his total of six chances created and 19 attempted crosses this season.
It’s not just about his assist potential, either. Frequently playing off the right, where he can cut inside onto his stronger left foot, he has already netted in Europe and recorded four shots in the Premier League.
On top of that, McGinn provides something of a guarantee with regards to minutes, having started every Premier League game in 2026/27 so far, averaging 86.2 minutes per appearance.
Suzuki (£5.0m) had big gloves to fill upon his arrival at the club this summer, but the Japan international has made an impressive start to life as a Villan.
Averaging 4.0 points per start, he’s already delivered a clean sheet against Hull City in Gameweek 3. He’s also racked up 15 saves across his first four matches, which have helped him earn three additional save points.
Suzuki’s distribution has certainly added a new dimension to Villa’s play. Unai Emery’s men have seemed to adopt a more direct approach this season, with Suzuki’s ability with the ball at his feet key to this tactical evolution. Calm and composed, he’s completed 101 successful passes over the last four Gameweeks.
Coventry City’s Carl Rushworth (£4.5m) delivered the first goalkeeper assist of 2026/27 on Saturday. Given Suzuki’s distribution, it might not be long before he joins that list.
